This is the start of my new journey. My loving wife pushed me in the right direction, probably to stop me from trying to have these discussions with her, just kidding love, Thank you.
So, after many years of humming and hawing in regards to writing a blog, I have finally took the plunge. I love to rant but with well spoken dialect, OK, I confess sometimes there is explicit language. People that know me best know that I love to play Devil’s Advocate even if I agree with their point of view on something. Mainly because I believe discussion and healthy debate are a great educational tool, one that gets over looked quite regularly in today’s society.
I want to write about things going on around us from a different perspective. A perspective that can look at both sides of the situation and have healthy discussion about both sides, if need be. There is no need to name call or slander anyone in any situation so if you are going to leave a comment on any of my work, I ask you to leave it respectful, yes even a negative comment can be respectful.
My topics may vary, I might be talking about the media one blog, world events or motivation the next, sports in the next, but I will always look from both sides, these are just my opinions of each side. I am nobody except a guy writing some thoughts. I am not an expert in what I am talking about either by any means, but that’s kind of the point. There may be explicit content, as stated previously, at some points as it is ranty at times and sometimes you need some stronger language, you know.
My blog, The Other Side of the Coin, I hope will show readers that we can disagree with each other at times, but there is always another side to everything, which again gets overlooked especially in our world right now. Sometimes that other side makes people angry, sometimes its not the way you want to look at things, sometimes nobody is looking at it because there is a hidden agenda from somewhere else invoking some events, uh oh there is the tinfoil hat coming out, haha. Sometimes we just need to be pushed into the other shoes to walk in, or at the very least take a look from a perspective that isn’t the same as the one you look through all of the time. Who knows you could learn something about something. I know from taking this approach I have learned a lot about different things and have been able to have better, less aggressive conversations even though I am still a highly opinionated individual. Which is also why I decided to blog rather then journal, I want to learn more and reading my own thoughts and perspectives all the time, regardless of how many ways I look at it, will still only be my opinions, maybe I overlooked something as well.
I would love to connect with other people from all walks of life, as well as other bloggers, vloggers, podcasters, etc. I think it would be great to chat with other people, honestly I would like to move into podcasting at some point. Motivation is key to success, so I would like to connect with people from that walk of life. Hockey is a passion of mine has been for over 30 years, huge Canucks fan but I just honestly love the sport so would like to connect with some sports fans/personalities as well. I would love to hear other sides to my writings in my blog, like I stated before I have opinions of things, I am entitled to those opinions but it doesn’t mean that they are relevant.
I hope you all enjoy my stab at this. It will be a huge learning curve for myself I am sure, but I love a challenge and I don’t like to fail. So welcome along, remember this is just one persons opinion, and don’t be afraid to drop a comment when you feel like it.
Cheers,
DMKK
